The first ever Cowtown Comix Fest was a success!

We sold lots of comics & hung out with all of the awesome cartoonists of Denver. People who say that Denver has no comics scene are totally lying.
Ink Studs, a really rad radio show in Canada devoted to comics, just had Noah as a guest--click here to listen to the interview.
Charles at Radio 1190 also has some really nice things to say about Noah's work--check it out here!

Oh man, guys, the Kilgore birthday party was so fun! Married in Berdichev! & Milton Melvin Croissant III played awesome tunes, John P. sang the best a cappella ever, Noah & a bunch of awesome comic artists drew (as you can tell by that totally un-staged photo of him & Dan), and everyone drank champagne! If you missed it, be sure to head over to Kilgore at 13th & Washington in Denver and wish them a happy belated birthday.
Okay...even more stuff to report! Let's take a deep breath and get started. Noah has a story in issue #8 of Potlatch (which you can buy by clicking on the link). Next, listen to a great interview Charlito did with Noah & John Porcellino on Indie Spinner Rack Issue #156! There's also a really nice review of Blammo #4 up on Optical Sloth (scroll down past the #3 review), and a review of the limited edition mini-comic on NeuFutur. Rob Clough over at High-Low Comics also had some nice things to say about Noah's contribution to Side B: The Music Lover's Comic Anthology:
"The stories that succeeded best told us something about the musician in addition to the cartoonist. That list included Colleen Frakes' story about Portland performance artist Jason Webley (done in her trademark loose style that featured a lot of black); Jim Mahfood's funny story about the effect Gary Wilson's odd stylings had on his personal aesthetic; and Noah Van Sciver's attempts at blazing out the bohemian's path ala Bob Dylan. There's an unabashed enthusiasm in each artist's story, showing that allowing someone to go on at length about an artist they admire can reveal something about the storyteller as well. The grittiness of the art of Mahfood (much less precious than much of his art) and Van Sciver brought the stories to life in a way that some of the slicker artists in the anthology don't."

Wizard Magazine just began featuring Noah's monthly recaps of his brother Ethan's Flash Rebirth comics as well, so be sure to check out the irony over here.
And, last but not least, Noah has been hard at work with The Hypo, his first full-length graphic novel about Abe Lincoln's early years. Here's a page from it:

The Denver ComicFest was great! Noah & John Porcellino sold comics and met lots of awesome people like Brian Wood and the rad dudes over at Indie Spinner Rack. Look for a podcast with Noah over there coming soon!

Lots of good news to report from the last few days! The wonderful Tuyet Nguyen over at Decider did a great interview with Noah as a preview for the comic fest this weekend, and the awesome Sarah Morean wrote a very nice piece on The Daily Crosshatch about him, too. Thanks, everyone!
We just printed up these super limited edition mini comics, which are available here on the website (just click the "Add to Cart" button below) and at the Starfest Denver Comic Fest this weekend for only $3. We don't have plans to do another printing of these, so get them while they last!

Speaking of the comic fest, we are super excited for it, but might not be able to make it tonight (Friday) because of the snow storm hitting Denver right now, but we'll for sure be there tomorrow when the roads clear up.

It has been far too long since we updated, you guys. And a lot has happened! Probably the most exciting is the feature on Noah and his brother, Ethan, in the latest issue of Wizard Magazine:

You can pick up your very own copy at grocery & book stores everywhere (it's the one with Wolverine on the cover)!
Noah also got a nice little mention in iconic Westword artist Kenny Be's comic a few weeks ago:

Cool, huh? Also, just as a reminder, Noah will be a guest at Starfest's Denver Comicfest this Friday, April 17 through Sunday, April 19 at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Denver Tech Center. Be sure to come say hi if you can make it! Noah will have copies of the legendary, elusive, and not-yet-released Blammo #4 for sale at the fest, so you can be the first kid on the block to read it. Please come! Tickets are available here.
Okay, I think that's enough to digest for the moment. Keep checking back for more updates, though. There's a lot brewing at Noah Van Sciver headquarters right now...

Press galore this week!
Noah was interviewed by Newsarama, where he talks about how to get revenge through comics, among other things. Also be sure to look in the comments section for a rousing debate on Noah's potential cuteness (he's a heartthrob!) and how to pronounce "Van Sciver" (it's Van Sky-ver!).
He also has a guest strip up on the Daily Cross Hatch all about hatred, high school romance, and two liter bottles of soda.
We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Blammo #4, which should be available sometime late in February. And remember, Noah Van Sciver merch is the best gift for your honey this Valentine's Day! Buy buttons, zines and other things at the store.

Happy New Year! The Comic Book Battle Royale with John Porcellino was great! Both the Onion and Westword did nice write-ups to preview the event (here and here) which drew in a pretty sizeable crowd. Noah and John talked about & signed comics all night while everyone enjoyed hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps. It was definitely a success!

If you weren't able to make it, be sure to pick up a copy of Blammo 3 at the webstore.

Along with calling the Blammo 3 "brilliant," the kind people over at Optical Sloth also said that Noah "probably is a future cult favorite. If you don't get in on the ground floor you won't be nearly as cool as you think you are."
And if that wasn't enough, Noah also has an interview up at Midnight Fiction as well as a video profile from Jobing.com. Click the links to see.
For more updates on what Noah is up to, check out his blog!

Noah's release party at Kilgore Books & Comics for Blammo #2 was great! We heard wonderful tunes from local bands Modern Witch, The Pseudo Dates, and The Bluebird Equation and then Noah answered questions about his comics. To relive the night for yourself, check out photos and videos over here.
The next release party for Blammo #3 is coming up quickly. It's going to be a double party for King Cat creator John Porcellino and Noah, and is tentatively set for December 20. Stay tuned!
And if you just can't get enough comics, Noah's work is featured in issue #293 of the prestigious Comics Journal as well as the next issue of Mineshaft, along with R. Crumb! Whoa! Look out for a cautionary tale about bed bugs in the January issue of Maximumrocknroll, too.
AND, if that wasn't enough, we just added a bunch of comics to the online store--check it out here!
Love, Robin

Hello,
Welcome to Noah Van Sciver.com! We just revamped this site a bit to make it more interesting and informative. We gave it a little face lift and we are trying to set up our own online store on here so that I'll be able to personally send things out to people instead of relying on some other website.
So, hopefuly within the next couple of days you'll be able to get some of these more rare comics and zines as well as some buttons...etc.
A few days ago I was a part of the Denver Zine Fest. I met John Porcellino, the artist of King Cat comics. He is a nice guy and very respectable. It was definitely a high point of the whole fest.I was planning on having some copies of Blammo 2 to sell in time but unfortunately it didn't work out fast enough.
I'm pretty proud of issue 2. I think it's my best work and is definitely the funniest thing I've done. I'm very excited for it to be finally released. In this issue I've included some interview comics that I did. The famous Joe Matt interview as well as Anton Newcombe of Brian Jonestown Massacre and Kristin Gundred from the band Grand Ole Party. Aslo, I did a follow up to my comic strip "I wish I was friends with Bob Dylan". The cover features a painting of Bob:

Another thing that has been in circulation around Denver is a mini comic I put together named The Work Of A Young, Unfed And Unknown Cartoonist.

This is a collection of comics I did that were either published in other things or were drawn for Blammo but I decided not to use them for one reason or another. I'll have it available on this site soon for people who don't live in Denver.
You should keep up with my Westword strip weekly here. I think that is all for now! Thank you for your time.
-Noah
